Product Description Sample: The Rolex Submariner 16800

The Rolex Submariner 16800

It’s a Rolex, nuff said.
Kidding.

The Rolex Submariner 16800 is often set aside in favor of the 16610. That may be so, but, the 16800 is still a fine watch that comes from the distinguished line of Rolex Submariners. And, I would like to note that for some aficionados, this particular watch is a treasure - if it is in respectable condition.

The Submariner line was born on the same year Jacques-Yves Cousteau opened our eyes to the silence of sea with his book The Silent World: A Story Of Undersea Discovery & Adventure. He would also be one of the notable explorers to wear one, as well as Chuck Yeager and Jacques-Piccard. Movies, TV and various celebrities are also associated with the Rolex Submariner line.

The 16800’s movement is automatic so winding it up is no longer necessary. The bracelet and the 40mm case are made of steel and built to last. It secures with a fold clasp and it can go down to 300 meters. It is also the first Rolex sport model fitted with a Sapphire crystal. During the period from 1979 - 1988, there have been variations like matte or glossy dials, tritium hands etc. but they are all great timepieces.
