150-word blog sample: writing an effective email subject line

Writing an Effective Email Subject Line

An effective email subject line is not only useful for personal emails but it is imperative when used for business correspondence. Equally vital when connecting with consumers, writing an effective email subject line can reduce the chances of your message ending up in the spam folder. Here are a few things to consider when you are writing that email subject line.

How to Write an Effective Email Subject Line

KISS - Keep it short and simple

Making the subject line short allows it to be read in full on various platforms. This is especially important when you take into consideration that most people these days view emails using devices other than the PC. The screens of these devices are simply smaller and if your subject line is short it will most likely be seen in full. Making it simple allows the subject line to be easily read even at a glance...

Product Description Sample: The Rolex Submariner 16800

The Rolex Submariner 16800

It’s a Rolex, nuff said.
Kidding.

The Rolex Submariner 16800 is often set aside in favor of the 16610. That may be so, but, the 16800 is still a fine watch that comes from the distinguished line of Rolex Submariners. And, I would like to note that for some aficionados, this particular watch is a treasure - if it is in respectable condition.

The Submariner line was born on the same year Jacques-Yves Cousteau opened our eyes to the silence of sea with his book The Silent World: A Story Of Undersea Discovery & Adventure. He would also be one of the notable explorers to wear one, as well as Chuck Yeager and Jacques-Piccard. Movies, TV and various celebrities are also associated with the Rolex Submariner line.

The 16800’s movement is automatic so winding it up is no longer necessary. The bracelet and the 40mm case are made of steel and built to last. It secures with a fold clasp and it can go down to 300 meters. It is also the first Rolex sport model fitted with a Sapphire crystal. During the period from 1979 - 1988, there have been variations like matte or glossy dials, tritium hands etc. but they are all great timepieces.

Sex Pays

Sex Pays

Sex is something that is not normally associated with workplace productivity but it seems that there is a correlation between the number of times we have sex and the performance we put out there for our careers.

In a recently published article in the The Huffington Post (08/14/2013), entitled “People Who Have Sex At Least 4 Times A Week Make More Money: Study”, it says that individuals who have frequent sex tend to have higher paying jobs than their contemporaries. Nick Drydakis, a member of the Institute for the Study of Labor made the research and found compelling evidence that suggests subjects who have sex at least four times per week tend to have higher salaries. The data does not implicitly say more sex equals more money but it does show individuals performing better at work because they are a happier bunch. This complements research results conducted by an intimate products designer from Sweden called Lelo. Their findings published as an infographic, titled “Infographic: 5 Reasons Why More Sex Helps Your Career” (September 17, 2012), indicate there is a reciprocity between sex and success. It notes that the more sex you have the more success you get. In Lelo’s study, it shows that having sex on a regular basis results in an increase of a third or more in workplace productivity and sales. They also found that it boils down to sex making us happy and that reflects on our performance in our careers. Maybe companies are going about it the wrong way in discharging the charged office environment but that may need in depth research and until it is done we will not know for sure.

Many have studied the benefits of sex pertaining to more than just careers and money but in focusing on the data on these particular studies, the information highlights the fact that people having sex makes happier people and happier people perform better at their jobs leading to bigger paychecks.

Amazon Products Sample Descriptions

Sample Description: Arthur Court Grape Salad Tongs

Inspired by the grapes grown in the Napa Valley wine region, the Grape Salad Tongs are one of the more popular products in the grape design line from Arthur Court Designs (ACD). For over a decade they have been used to dazzle like many of the other designs that have come from the sand-aluminum foundries of Arthur Court Designs. Their beauty is classic, but, unlike the dangerous versions of old that are filled with lead, all the Arthur Court Designs products are FDA approved and use only food safe aluminum alloy.

These grape design salad tongs are perfect for special occasions where elegance is a must. Although they are pretty to look at, they are quite functional. Using the scissors’ hinged design, it allows for single-handed use. Weighing in at 15.2 ounces and measuring 12 x 4.7 x 2.5 inches, they are a lightweight tool equipped with the right dimensions to get the job done.

Caring for your Grape Salad Tongs is not complicated, just wash with mild soap and water and dry with a dish cloth. It is not recommended that these precious Grape Salad Tongs are not placed in the dishwasher. They are prone to damage from the hot high pressure jets of the dishwasher even if they are perfectly suited to be chilled and frozen or heated in an oven for up to 350 degrees.

It is a delightful gift that anyone would love to receive and perhaps one you can love to send as a gift to yourself.

  • Eye-catching embossed grape design.
  • Lightweight and grabs at any salad masterfully.
  • Easy to care for and clean.
  • Made with food safe aluminum alloy, tested and approved by the FDA.
  • Gorgeous gift item for a special occasion.

What is PTC - Paid To Click?

What is PTC - Paid To Click?

This business model is all about gaining traffic for advertisers through home based users trying to earn a few cents. The advertiser gets traffic, getting through the front door and possibly closing a sale. The PTC intermediary website gets paid for getting the traffic for the advertiser and the home based clicker earns their share. In a nutshell advertisers place ads, PTC websites get home based users to click on ads, advertisers get traffic and you get a few cents for it.
This is the short version, it really is more than this, variations with complexities that require an IQ of 200 to understand them are common but don't despair all you need to know is if you click it money will come.
Though not without pitfalls, the risks are small because it does not cost money. As with all ventures watch your step and learn more at:

Cruciferous Vegetables

Cruciferous Vegetables

Who has ever heard of "Cruciferous Vegetables"? I certainly haven't before writing this article. I might've just been one of the few people who has remained clueless about this family of very special vegetables, until I did some Googling that is. I fired up my PC, typed in my keywords "Cruciferous Vegetables" and, lo and behold, its the cabbage or mustard family of vegetables. Whodathunkit Cruciferous Vegetables, I eat 'em everyday. Here are some of the common cultivars or varieties of these Cruciferous Vegetables or Vegetables of the family Brassicaceae, you might've just had a bite or two of these wonderful veggies yourself: horseradish, land cress, ethiopian mustard, kale, collard greens, Chinese broccoli (kai-lan), cabbage, brussels sprout, kohlrabi, broccoli, broccoflower, broccoli romanesco, cauliflower, wild broccoli, bok choy, komatsuna, mizuna,Rapini (broccoli rabe), flowering cabbage, chinese cabbage, napa cabbage, turnip root; greens, rutabaga, siberian kale, canola/rapeseed, wrapped heart mustard cabbage, mustard seeds, brown; greens, mustard seeds (white), mustard seeds (black), tatsoi, arugula (rocket), garden cress, watercress, radish, daikon, and wasabi, just to name a few - haha. Just what is it though that makes these veggies so amazing, aside from the vitamins, minerals, and fiber, they contain powerful cancer fighting substances called glucosinolates. Sulforaphane, a glucosinolate compound found in Cruciferous Vegetables, is characterized differently by many people to be a sharp, spicy or bitter taste. Sulforaphane is just one of the phytochemicals found in Cruciferous Vegetables. Indole-3-Carbinol is also another compound found in abundance in Cruciferous Vegetables. Whatever they contain, they are delicious and without me knowing it, I was actually doing my body some good by eating Cruciferous Vegetables. Try them yourself, if you haven't yet that is.

My Take on Gestational Diabetes

My Take on Gestational Diabetes

My wife and I were not so fortunate to have our first baby so when our second came along we were 10 times more focused on the pregnancy, well at least I was and my wife was twice as cautious as before.
During the course of the pregnancy she developed Gestational Diabetes (gestational diabetes mellitus, GDM). She was advised to take insulin by a local doctor who was very well regarded by the medical community to be one of the best if not the best in the region. I refused to acknowledge his recommendations and I went ahead and made my own research.
In a nutshell, I found out that the body's production of insulin and the body's need for glucose is at an imbalance.
I theorized that through close monitoring of sugar levels in the blood along with proper management of food intake and exercise, one could eliminate the need for insulin shots.
The plan was to first acquire a glucose meter or glucometer. It is a critical piece of equipment to enable one to manage one’s food intake and exercise program.
There is a general framework for the program but since it changes by the moment one needs to adjust and take action immediately. It consisted of a sugar level check, then allocating an appropriate calorie meal and doing some activity to help the body burn the sugar gradually. The steps may be done 4-7 times a day depending on the situation. Simply put, we do not allow the body to process sugar at a single time preventing the body from those nasty sugar spikes after meals.
It does take a bit of getting used to and maybe it is best suited for those who do not have work or if you are a stay at home mom. Maybe this might not be appropriate for other situations but it worked for my wife. The essence of it though is the management of sugar levels. It may be tweaked to set it for the kind of lifestyle you have.

ClickBank - How Somebody Starting Off Could Start To Pick Product Properly

ClickBank - How Somebody Starting Off Could Start To Pick Product Properly

This is my spin on ClickBank's Mr. Beau Blackwell's article Six Steps To Finding A Great Product To Promote.

1.Niche - Selecting the right niche requires a lot of thought. In the selection of the right product, you need to consider personal preferences, experiences, expertise, skills, hobbies, passions, etc. Consider it a profile of who you are as well, "you are what your niches are". You must select products that are close to home or what you know about. It makes it easier for you to market products.
2.Target Market - After identifying a segment of the marketplace or niche that you are most familiar with, you now need to know who's buying and what are they buying from that niche. Here you need to employ a bit of consumer psychology but it needs not be that complicated as well, after all, you are part of this niche. Please also keep in mind that every niche is different. Some are broad with a ton of consumers and competitors and some are narrow with very few buyers and few competitors. These must be considered as well, for you to find the best niches you are to compete in for sales.
3.Product - Having made a thorough analysis of the niche and the market for that niche, you now can start choosing a product to promote from the ClickBank products. "Gravity" is the term used by ClickBank to measure how well a product is doing. 100+ gravity equals more sales prospects and more competitors, 30+ and up are quality products worth your time and effort, <30 spells difficulty but some of these may turn out to be money makers.
4.More, more, more.... - It would be best if the niche chosen would have more than one product associated with it. This would mean you could better compete, in a niche with 1 high selling product, competition would be through the roof and you would have a difficult time getting a foothold. From a point of view of multiple products, presenting a choice creates an avenue for them to choose the best product they prefer. If you don't get them with one you still have others they might be interested to choose from.
5.More bucks for your bang - Concentrate your efforts to the high paying products, after all, you got into this for the money right. High percentage commissions even on low dollar valued products are good. Low percentage commissions are reserved for the high dollar value products. It is recommended to go for commission rates of 65% and up. It is recommended that on high commission products, paying on average about $18 per sale, must be taken advantage.
6.Their Pitch - Study the chosen products' sales page very well, not all products sell themselves the same. Careful consideration must be made, a better pitched product may mean more money for you.

The short version choose a market segment or niche you know, a niche where you know the customer and their needs, a niche associated with products that sell well and pay handsomely, and products that sell themselves better than the others.

List Building a Subscriber Base

List Building a Subscriber Base

As one engaged in newbie marketing you are expected to a degree to accomplish this task, you are to collect and compile a subscriber base. This list building task is to help you in promotional activities and generally create credibility for your website. The is email right, we referred to it as the key for reason. with just a list of emails you have the power to build a community and have them gather on your site. You can use this list to widen your reach get more connections through their connections. There may even be a point where you can create a brand for you and the site. You can then use the list to market and create brand recognition.

There are techniques to getting the list building done, a common way is to make a squeeze page as they call it and give the reader or visitor an offer of free stuff in exchange for their precious contact information and email address. the squeeze page is also referred to sometimes as a landing page or an opt in page. The squeeze page is normally a summary or a glimpse of what your main site is all about.

There are also other ways of gathering this information, for example the emails are publicly available online. Hard work and perseverance will pay off if you take this road. A lot of searching and copying and pasting will have to be made. What you can also do is acquire the services of a professional researcher and data entry person, you may even do cold calling or again hire somebody to do it for you.  You can also buy it, if that is what you decide. Just get some list building done to get subscribers coming to the site.

Bad Credit Contract Phones

Bad Credit Contract Phones

Not being able to pay your mobile phone bills places you in a bad position when it comes to your credit scores. There will be tough consequences for not being able to keep your credit histories in check.  Mobile companies do a background credit check before they do approve your application for a new mobile phone and phone contract. Fortunately, there are companies that have a more relaxed attitude towards poor to bad credit ratings. Although not openly stated, several mobile companies are open to taking a risk on a would be applicant who has had poor or bad credit in the past. Chances of getting a phone application approved are good but it would still be a case to case basis, some do get through others do not. Guarantees are difficult, but there are a few tips on how to increase your chances of getting the phone and phone contract you want.
It is suggested that you go directly to the mobile phone company’s website but that is not always the case other companies would be better targeted by going to 3rd party providers. This just means that some providers prefer to take on the risk themselves while some prefer to pass on the risk to their 3rd party affiliates. Another important piece of advice is to make smart choices when selecting your chosen phone in relation to your credit situation. If your credit is very low, like mineshaft low, you might consider going for a simple phone with a cheap phone contract or if it happens to be on the edge, poor but not enough to pass, a mid-priced phone with a low cost phone contract might do the trick. Try to stay away from recently released phone model contracts unless they fit just right for your credit situation. Research your options, a few suggested companies are Vodafone, Orange, O2,  3 Mobile and T-Mobile.
