Moving to the Philippines

Moving to the Philippines
The Republic of the Philippines is composed of 7,107 islands with a tropical climate and has only two seasons, wet and dry. It is ranked third among English-speaking countries, has a democratic government and is a predominantly Christian nation. The Filipino people are of Malay origin with Chinese, Spanish, American and Arab ethnicity mixed in. Having a number of varied influences, the Filipino melting pot is a one of a kind mixture of all cultures. One characteristic that sets the Filipino apart from other cultures is their hospitality, a trait common in all the diverse local ethnicities in the country. The economic status of the Philippines is robust, it has been able to dodge a major recession, at least for the time being, despite the global financial crisis. These are just a few of the general things one could consider when moving to the Philippines.

“Why move to the Philippines?”  Whether permanent or temporary, one's stay in the Philippines  would certainly be an experience to enrich one's life.

Expats by concentration are located mostly in one of the main islands of the Philippines, Luzon, where the capital city Manila is found. A large number of Expats converged in the Luzon province of Pampanga as well due to the presence of the former air force base, Clark, now a bustling economic zone. Their purposes being in the Philippines is varied such as: to retire, to do business, for family and for love. They have chosen the country based on a number of reasons, a few among them: lifestyle, the cost of living, the cost of doing business, the local culture, and some have even said that they are just avoiding the exorbitant taxes being levied in their respective countries.

For whatever reasons, these people found what they were looking for in one or more of the  thousands of islands in the Philippines and again with 7,107 of them offering a variety of reasons why one should stay there, surely, there is one reason for one to visit at the very least.
